Mr Manohar Thakare(Father of Child) work as painter and does other odd jobs. His wife Mrs. Chaya Thakare is house wife. As his income is less he is unable to manage his Son’s medical treatment cost. His Son Vedant Thakare is case Thallesemia Major. He has undergone Born Marrow Transplant at SRCC childrens hospital.
This is with reference to one of our pediatric patients Vedant Thakare, 13 Years old male, case of Thallesemia Major. He has undergone Bone Marrow Transplant at SRCC Childrens Hospital as a option to lead a normal life like any other child. Furnishing you the details of socio-economic background of this patient.
Family stays at Wanjre, Karjat, Raigad, Maharashtra. Father works as painter and does other odd jobs. He earns around 55,000/- p.a. There is no other source of income in family. The dependent members in family include mother and other dependents. It will be challenging for family to meet the treatment cost for BMT of Vedant, with this limited, available financial resources Vedant was diagnosed with this condition at the age of 4 months. He was taken to local doctor, He has been on blood transfusion and medications since then, was recently recommended for Bone Marrow Transplant, but due to financially constraints, family could not decide on BMT treatment. However family has managed to get the BMT done with the help and support from charitable trusts and partially contributing for the treatment.
